Satellite communication services will be available in a few specific places on the next iPhone of US technology giant Apple. There may not be an opportunity to consider this service as an alternative communication system everywhere. Emergency satellite call and messaging services for the future iPhone (possibly iPhone 13) will be available only in designated areas and later where there is no cellular coverage, according to a report.
Apple wants to consistently launch its own satellite service for more data coverage. However, the implementation of this plan may take several years. Also less likely to get non-emergency calling service soon.
Although the customized Qualcomm X60 modem to be used in the next iPhone will be used for satellite service, it will not be able to fully serve satellite phones. In addition, the cost and objections of operators may hinder Apple from providing satellite services
