Helm’s last-second purpose sends Avs to Western Convention Last

The Colorado Avalanche pulled off a last-second victory over the St. Louis Blues, 3-2, in Sport 6 of the Western Convention semifinals Friday night time. 

With the win, the Avalanche wrap up the sequence towards the Blues in six video games, punching their ticket to the Western Convention Last. 

Tied 2-2 late within the third interval, Avalanche ahead Darren Helm scored the go-ahead purpose with six seconds left to ship Colorado to the convention ultimate for the primary time since 2002. 

Colorado’s J.T. Compher scored two targets Friday night time, together with a game-tying purpose halfway by the third interval. 

The Avalanche held the Blues to single-digit photographs in all three intervals in assist of goaltender Darcy Kuemper who made 18 saves to earn the win in web. 

The Blues opened the scoring on Friday night time when Justin Faulk scored with only a minute left within the opening interval to provide St. Louis a 1-0 lead. 

Simply over 5 minutes into the second interval, the Avalanche tied the rating 1-1 after Compher’s first purpose of the sport. The Blues took again management of the sport 4 minutes later when Jordan Kyrou scored to provide St. Louis a 2-1 lead on the second intermission. 

Trailing 2-1 halfway by the third, Compher’s second purpose of the night time tied issues up once more, setting the stage for Helm’s last-second heroics.  

Colorado will host the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday for Sport 1 of the Western Convention Last.
