MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A bridge on Freeway 158 in Cellular County was named in honor of a employee who was killed on the job.
Marshall Walton died in a freeway work zone in 2015 when he was hit by a automotive.
Walton’s household was available Tuesday because the bridge over Seabury Creek was renamed the Marshall James Walton Memorial Bridge. His father, Johnny Walton, stated the bridge represents all of those that have died in work zones.
The dedication takes place throughout Nationwide Work Zone Consciousness Week.
Wednesday is “Put on Orange Day” to honor those that have misplaced their lives in work zones.
